Nordic Center - LaGrange, WI - Sunday, January 23, 2011

Just wanted to document what a wonderful day of skiing I had at the Nordic Center Trails at LaGrange. Even though the temps were chilly, the sunshine and lack of wind made it a perfect day for skiing. I would encourage anyone living in southern WI to check it out. The peaceful setting and rolling hills made it a joy to ski!! I will post pictures at a later date..

The summer heat doesn't stop me from knitting

This has become my new obsession, the Eyelet Cardigan by Blue Sky Alpaca, knit up with Plymouth Superwash Merino. I just love how it turned out and have bought more yarn to knit another, and 2 other colorways to knit it up in a periwinkle blue and sage green. It's a fun and satisfying knit. Love those Alpaca

I was on a bike trip this summer, and was I was biking along Lake Erie, I came across a herd of Alpaca. They were so cute, I couldn't resist shooting their pictures...

as for what I'm knitting, I'm working on the hourglass sweater with yarn I bought from Stitches 2 years ago. working on my second sleeve.... and of course can't have one project, so I started a Noro vest. pretty exciting. I'll post them when I'm done...

Olbrich Gardens

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I want to relax and take in the beauty of one of the most beautiful gardens in Madison. Springtime is an especially lovely time to visit, and it's fun to see the garden change with the seasons....

This is Shelby, our Aussie/Husky mix. She is 4 years old and is a great addition to our family.

Grand Canyon - First Hike

This is a photo from our first hike into the Grand Canyon in April of '07 with a group of 22 people from our ski team. We hopped aboard the Amtrak Train in Illinois, and headed for Flagstaff, AZ. It's a great way to travel, if you haven't given it a try, i'd highly recommend it. It's a great way to get a lot of knitting done!!!

Awaiting my first shipment

It's Sunday evening, and in a few days, i'll be receiving my first shipment from woolgirl sock club. I am eager to see what it is and feel like part of a wonderful group already.
